October 2023 saw the completion of the Songtsam Pasong Tso Rinca Hotel, located in a pristine forest at an altitude of 3,480 meters above sea level, which had been in the pipeline for 8 years. It is one of the largest and most advanced hotels in Songtsam, and is the first to feature an eco-friendly, green and low-carbon theme.

In 2022, Songtsam Group reached a strategic cooperation with Siemens Energy, and in order to promote the green, low-carbon and recycling development in rural areas, it introduced the solar roof tiles from gainsolar , exploring the integration of green and low-carbon environmental protection concepts, and accomplished today's Songtsam Batson Tso Rinca.

The roof of the hotel is constructed with nearly 10,000 pieces of solar roof tiles--T MAX O. Using integrated lap joints, it is fearless of water leakage and severe weather such as gusty winds, etc. T MAX O has a unique breathing function, which meets the requirements of the "Technical Standards for Energy Conservation in Civil Buildings" of the Tibet Autonomous Region, and its high flexibility resists deformation and covers minor cracks at the grass-roots level. The high flexibility can resist the deformation of the grassroots and cover the fine cracks, suitable for extreme weather, sunshine and ultraviolet penetration of the region. At the same time, the standardized size of the standard solar roof tiles also avoids the transportation problems caused by large-size building materials, ensuring the smooth construction of the building. In order to better protect the natural environment of Batson Tso, the staff adopted the dry hanging construction process, conforming to the trend of Batson Tso's lake and mountains, and minimizing the impact on the surrounding environment in the installation process. This also has absolute advantages in terms of shortening the project duration and improving the seismic effect. In addition, the bottom part also adopts the downhill overhead installation method, the vertical distance between the solar roof tiles and the roof surface to meet the requirements of ventilation and heat dissipation gap, effectively promoting the natural ventilation at the same time, enriching the expression of the roof form.

According to statistics, the project has an installed area of 6,931 square meters and a total installed capacity of 841.81 kW. The hotel is expected to generate an average of 3,123 kWh of electricity per day, which will meet the power needs of 122 guest rooms for six hours per day, as well as a 100 kW DC lighting system for the lobby, meeting rooms and restaurants, which will be available for 24-hour operation. The average annual replacement of conventional energy consumption is expected to be approximately 10,000 kWh, equivalent to a reduction of approximately 1,080 tons of CO2 emissions.
